Lotus Evora GTE - going on sale in Europe after Frankfurt debut
We’ve decided we weren’t really on the ball with the Lotus Evora GTE at Pebble beach. Yes, we reported the most powerful Evora yet was heading to Monterey, but we assumed it was just another limited run Lotus. Turns out, apparently, that Lotus intended the Evora GTE would only be sold in Asia.
The Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo 2011 debuted at Goodwood
If you went down to the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend you may well have come across Alpina’s latest offering – the Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo – which, following the news yesterday that BMW have retired the current generation (E60) M5 and that you’ll have to wait intil next year for the new M5 – is the only way to hop in to a brand new ‘Hot’ 5 series for at least the next 9 months. Not only is the Alpina B5 the only really quick 5 series on the market now, it will also be a lot less ubiquitous in the long run than BMW’s own M5. A lot to be said for that.
A new Citroen C3 will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with the usual facelift of new bumpers and lights and revised engine range. Astonishingly – for the Citroen C3 is a bit bland – it’s much the same car under the skin as the brilliant DS3, but the C3 is the DS3 with the sparkle missing. And it looks like the sparkle of the DS3 will still be missing from the C3 as it gets a mid-life facelift, with nothing much going on except the usual facelift fodder of new bumpers and lights, a tweak or two to the trim and a bit of fiddling with the engine range.
